Goodwood Festival of Speed 2009

A few photographs I forgot about. New, old and custom motorcycles.

The sights you see when motorcycle touring

Everybody should experience touring on their motorcycle, its an amazing feeling, so much freedom, the only way to do it properly though is to camp. Many of these passes are in the Bernese Oberland region of central Switzerland, a good base camp in Meiringen.

Susten Pass, Switzerland

San Ghottardo Pass, Switzerland

A few of the greatest motorcycling personalities (to name but a few)

Barry Sheene, I'm too young to have been privileged enough to see him race in his professional career, but was fortunate to see him ride several times, including his final race at Goodwood Revival.

Valentino Rossi, well what else can be said, one of the best.

Sammy Miller, a true legend of all aspects of the motorcycling world.

Giacomo Agostini, nothing needs to be said, it's Giacomo Agostini!

I'm sure I could add so many more to this list.
Mike Hailwood
Marco Melandri
Dani Pedrosa
Sete Gibernau
Joey Dunlop
Mick Doohan
Michael Rutter
John McGuinness
Guy Martin
Richard Difazio
etc...
etc...
etc...

My 'new' Italian beast.

A 1985 Moto Guzzi Le Mans 1000 IV with La Franconi Competzione Exhausts, sound a dream, giving a really deep roar on the road, and a terrifying rumble in idle. 40 mm Dell'orto carbs. So much torque, and constant power band right up to 9000rpm, never needed!

When touring alongside my father on a white motorsport 1978 BMW R100 S you can imagine the noise and attention we get from other motorcyclists, especially on top of the Stelvio Pass in Italy and on the edge of Lake Como we were stopped by police just for them to look at the bikes, a weird feeling, we thought we were in trouble.
